CFP: EU Horizon - 1st STECCI conference (Vienna 25th – 27th September 2025)

The EU Horizon STECCI research project, launched in 2023, is committed to creating sustainable, innovative strategies for protecting Europe’s cultural heritage. The project focuses on stećci, tombstones in the Balkans, and ways to safeguard them from the effects of climate change and related threats. The conference will present preliminary findings and results of the interdisciplinary research group. Additionally, it will offer scholars from various scientific disciplines—including conservation, environmental
sciences, life sciences, tourism, social sciences, natural sciences, and humanities—the opportunity to present research related to cultural heritage conservation beyond stone conservation.

We invite international researchers to submit abstracts by 15 May 2025 on the following topics:

 

• Climate change impacts and vulnerability assessment of tangible heritage
• Advanced methodologies and environmentally sustainable solutions in heritage conservation
• Social and economic impact of climate change on cultural heritage
• Digitalization of cultural heritage

 

All accepted papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Selected papers will be recommended for publication in a journal indexed in the Scopus database, subject to an additional peer-review process.
Conference Format: Hybrid (on-site in Vienna and online)
