Theme: Emerging Trends
For museum brands to remain relevant in a changing world, it is critical to consider the impact of trends. This year, the ICOM MPR conference will be held in Yerevan, Armenia from the 24-28th October, 2015. The conference will focus on "Emerging trends" and their impact on museum brands. We will explore four subthemes, and will discuss the role of marketing and public relations in addressing them - the challenges and opportunities offered by the digital space, dealing with controversy and understanding and engaging new audiences.
ICOM MPR 2015 Call for Papers now extended to June 30
Early Bird Registration also extended to July 15
Thank you to all who have already submitted a proposal - we have received some really great submissions and look forward to what promises to be an exciting conference in Yerevan this October. Interested in speaking? It's not too late! We are pleased to announce that the call for papers has been extended to June 30. We have also extended the early bird registration rate through July 15. Please submit your proposal by June 30 so that we can review submissions and notify selected presenters prior to the July 15 early bird registration deadline.

Call for Papers
The Organizing Committee for ICOM-MPR is seeking expressions of interest from potential speakers on topics related to the three sub-themes. All submissions should follow the guidelines provided in this document.
Subtheme 1: Technology
Technology continues to evolve, creating new opportunities for museums to connect with audiences and to make an impact. We will explore how museums can leverage technology to build their brands. We are looking for expressions of interest to present 15-minute papers illustrating how museum marketers are connecting with audience and making an impact using technology.
Subtheme 2: Engaging new audiences (Millennial) As new generations enter the marketplace, they bring with them fresh ideas, perspectives and preferences. We will look at the newest generational insight and discuss the opportunities and implications on museum brands. We are seeking presenters to share 7-minute case studies that illustrate how museum marketers are engaging with this audience, or that provide research-based insight into this important audience.
Subtheme 3: Dealing with Controversy - Many museums face controversy for a variety of reasons, including their topic, current events or special exhibitions or programs. We will explore the way controversy affects museum brands from a marketing and PR perspective. We are looking for 15-minute papers exploring how museums face controversy from a marketing and PR perspective.
Please submit your abstract on the conference website by the 30th June, 2015.
Instructions for writing abstracts:
- Electronic transmission on the conference website requested - please fill out all fields on the form (http://www.museumarm.am/en/callforPapers)
- Abstracts must be written in English or Armenian (working languages of the conference)
- Text of the abstract, containing 250 words maximum, structured with subheadings: introduction, aims and conclusion
- Confirmation of which subtheme your presentation supports The receipt of abstracts will be confirmed, and a decision on offers will be made shortly after all abstracts are received. As a not-for-profit entity with extremely limited resources, it is not possible for ICOM-MPR to pay for the travel or accommodation expenses of its speakers. Please also note that accepted papers are not exempt from payment of the registration fee. ICOM MPR might however assist in writing letters of recommendations to sources of potential financial support.

The hotels offered to the participants on the registration page provide special rates to the ICOM MPR participants. A shuttle service will be provided from those hotels to the conference venue and versus.
