European Cultural Heritage Summit
The European Cultural Heritage Summit will be taking place from the 18-24 June 2018 in Berlin, Germany.
The summit will be the largest gathering of cultural heritage stakeholders, as well as attendees from the European Institutions, representatives from the Member States and civil society organisations. It promises a programme full of debate and discussion - see you there!
The European Cultural Heritage Summit will be co-hosted by Europa Nostra, the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (SPK) and the German Cultural Heritage Committee (DNK), acting as national coordinator of the EYCH in Germany.
The Summit will engage and mobilise a wide range of stakeholders, public and private, for an ambitious European Cultural Heritage Agenda. The Summit will be attended by highest representatives of EU Institutions, Member States and civil society organisations from all over Europe. Members of the European Heritage Alliance 3.3 and other members of the Stakeholders Committee have been invited to contribute to the programme.
The highlights of the Summit programme are:
- 21 June: Heritage Excellence Fair (with contributions by our award laureates)
- 22 June: High-level Policy Debate on Europe & Cultural Heritage
- 22 June (evening): Award-giving Ceremony for the EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards 2018
- 23 June (morning): Europa Nostra General Assembly followed by visits of the World Heritage Sites in Potsdam
In addition, side events will be organised by European and German partner organisations on 18-20 June and/or 23-24 June. For your possible interest, on the evening of 24 June, Plácido Domingo will perform the title role in opera ‘Macbeth’ at the recently fully restored Staatsoper Berlin.
