We are proud to invite you to the 27th Ecsite Annual Conference, co-organised by Ecsite and a trio of local hosts in Graz, Austria, on 9-11 June. The largest of its kind in Europe, the Ecsite conference is open to everyone interested in public engagement with science. Ecsite members and conference regulars will be particularly pleased to welcome first timers from countries where science engagement is booming, in particular Eastern Europe – note Graz’s central position on the European map. We also want to share our debates and exchanges with new communities, as our special partnership with the Hands On! International Association of Children in Museums shows.

Call for proposals

Team up and submit a session proposal for the 2016 Ecsite Annual Conference – call open until 15 October!

The majority of the conference’s unique programme comes from practitioners sharing and discussing experiences, research, trends and visions. The call for session proposals is open to all: team up with colleagues from around the globe and submit a session idea! A rich variety of formats is encouraged, from plenary talks to highly interactive workshops. Have a brilliant session idea? Find everything you need to know about submitting a successful proposal in this little guide, read up on this year's theme and practical details in the First announcement and use the forum to discuss potential topics and formats, find speakers and convenors. You will need to use your Ecsite user account to submit ideas and be part of a proposal: create one if you're new to this - or reset your password if you forgot it!

Conference regulars, note that this year all convenors and speakers involved in a proposal are able to edit it online. With great flexibility comes the need for great connectivity - please keep each other informed as necessary. Make sure that you inform the colleagues you invite to join your session that all participants need to register and pay the conference fee - there is no discount for speakers.

Session proposals will be reviewed and selected by the Annual Conference Programme Committee, bringing together a dozen experts. All speakers and convenors involved in a particular session proposal will be informed of the review's outcome by the beginning of December.
